Clark hit for a .347 average while collecting 161 hits, 11 doubles, 35 triples, 1 home run, 92 RBIs and scoring 109 times. |  | Tuesday, May 14th, 1895: EL Presents Outstanding Pitcher Award John Bennett had a marvelous 1894 season. The Erie mound mainstay garnered the most votes and has been named the EL Best Pitcher Award honoree.
The Blackbirds star dominated his opposition, finishing with 34 wins, 10 losses and a 2.40 ERA. In 44 starts he worked a total of 397 innings, striking out 70, while walking 84. Other clubs managed to hit only .244 against him. |  | Monday, May 13th, 1895: Moore Is EL's Rookie of the Year It wasn't a stroke of good luck that got Erie's Christian Moore the 1894 Eastern League Newcomer of the Year Award, it was his skill on the field. The gifted catcher performed well with a .382 batting average, while playing in 113 games and delivering 171 hits in 448 at-bats.
